Irvine George Bollendorf, 81, of Palmdale passed away peacefully June 20, 2007 with his family at his side.
He was born November 18, 1925 son of Irvine Bollendorf and Marie Schweitzer. He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Madison, Wisconsin. During World War II he enlisted in the United States Navy. Irvine survived the sinking of his ship the S.S. Touchet and latter served aboard the U.S.S. Antietam.
In the 50s Irvine Bollendorf joined the United States Air Force. While serving abroad in France he met the love of his life Anne Reimen of Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. They were married in 1960 and enjoyed 47 years of marriage. Irvine served his country for 20 years then worked another 20 years for Lockheed on the L-1011 and SR-71 .
Besides his professional success Irvine enjoyed his retirement. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He especially enjoyed Mammoth and Mt. Whitney.
Irvine Bollendorf was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Anne Bollendorf; children Patricia Bollendorf-Perez, George Bollendorf, Jason Bollendorf; grandchildren Corrine Bollendorf, Felicia Perez, Andrew Perez, Anthony Bollendorf, Amanda Perez, Sabrina Bollendorf; his sisters Elaine Buono and Phyllis Swensen.
Irvine George Bollendorf will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery with full Military Honors. An Interment Ceremony will be held at 1:30pm June 28, 2007.
